In the period from May through July 2013, systematic archaeological excavations were performed in the southwest corner of the churchyard. The unique complex of medieval kitchen has been researched, so far undetected in the sacral architecture of the medieval Serbia. It consists of: a furnace 7 meters in diameter and three large facilities (4, 5 and 6), abutting onto the south rampart, whose walls have been preserved from 0.60 m to 3.5 m in height.
