It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the ceremony on the occasion of opening the exhibition ManasijaMonastery - six decades of research and protection,to be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the Homeland Museum in Jagodina, starting at 6:00 pm.
The exhibition is the result of years-long, successful cooperation between the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia - Belgrade and the HomelandMuseum, and it was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Information, that wholeheartedly supported continued works on conservation and protection.
The historical and artistic qualities of Manasija were recognized through the work of the experts from the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia - Belgrade, which resulted in registration of yet one more of our monasteries at the UNESCO's Tentative List of natural and cultural heritage.
Visitors will be able to see the exhibition dedicated to archaeological researches and conservation works on the newly discovered facilities and fortification of the Manasija Monastery. Objects from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century will be presented at the exhibition, all discovered during six decades of research works in the Manasija.
The exhibition will beceremoniously opened by Mirjana Andric, acting Director of the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia - Belgrade and it will be open for visitors until 01.09.2014.
